December update

We just got an update from our social worker. Good news- the Korea program continues to run smoothly! Our agency received four referrals in November and two referrals in December. Two children joined their forever families in November and three in December. This is so exciting!

The estimated wait time for referrals is still seven to nine months, which brings us probably to receiving our referral sometime around March or April. Families that are more open to medical conditions in a child's referral are receiving referrals earlier than other families. We are open to some minor or correctable medical conditions, but I don't know if that will shorten our wait time or not. Once we receive our referral, the current wait time from acceptance of referral to travel is four months so we will still have to wait a bit to bring our little angel home.

The only bad news we received is that SWS (the Korean agency/orphanage who places us with our daughter) has announced that they will be increasing their fees by $1500 after January 1. Ugh... we are working so hard to come up with the $16,000 needed when we receive our referral and now this will make it that much harder. We just have to remember that God is always in control and He will provide!

That's all for now! Happy New Year!!

Ugh on the increase! I feel for you guys. So far Holt hasn't said anything about increases, but we all know anything can happen. Seems like our wait times are right on:) Glad your agency got a bunch in Nov./Dec. like ours...when there is some movement it feels like you actually might be getting somewhere!!!

We got similar info from our agency who also works with SWS. It wasn't the kind of news you want to hear the day before Christmas, but hopefully the wait times won't increase any more. Hoping our waits come to an end soon!
