OK, so I am not much of a poster, all you have to do is look at all of the posts on the blog and you can see that they can be credited to my wife....she loves to write as much as she loves to talk..LOL.
Seriously, lately I have had our daughter on my mind, even though I do not know who she is yet, nor will I ever know who her mother or father ever are, I cannot help but think of her. What will she look like, will she like bugs, will she play with dolls, will she have a special fluffy animal? What will she do when she grows up, will she love me? All these thoughts flood my mind and that leads to the doubts about being a good parent....yes I know I will be a great dad and she will most definately have me wrapped around her little finger (as my boys do).
All that being said I had a God moment this weekend and feel compelled to share what knowledge I think I have gained. This past Sunday January 16 I heard a sermon titled "
embrace your divine design". At first I thought it was about me, but the deeper we went in that hour I know this message was not about me but for me....the big idea of the sermons was that "God uniquely created you to love you". The following scriptures are the ones our pastor used and will lead to my eventual point of this post.
Psalm 119:13-14 "You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body and knit me together in my mother's womb. Thank you for making me so wonderfully complex! your workmanship is marvelous - how well I know it."
Ephesians 2:10 "For we are God's masterpiece."
Psalm 139:16 "You saw me before I was born. Every day of my life was recorded in your book. Every moment was laid out before a single day had passed."
Ephesians 1:4 "Long before he (God) laid down earth's foundations, he had us in mind, had settled on us as the focus of his love, to be made whole and holy by his love. Long, long ag he decided to adopt us into his family through jesus Christ."
My point is this...our daughter was made for us (as we were all made for our parents)!! God has used two other individuals on this planet to create a child for us to love, cherish, raise, praise and nurture as our own. She is delicately made, God's masterpiece. She was delicately made in her mother's womb, with all of her days already recorded in His book. She has already been bought with a high price, God's own son who died for all of us even before we were born. It has been written that we will be her parents and she will be our daughter.
On a final note for all parents of children, natural or adopted, Romans 8:28 "And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose." Enough said!!
