Carson has been begging for his own pet for almost a year.
He first wanted a guinea pig... too noisy.
Then a scorpion... too weird.
Then a snake... although I like them, my mother-in-law would never set foot in our house again.
Then a tarantella... I would be living with my mother-in-law. LOL!
Finally he wanted a lizard.
I really don't mind reptiles, so a lizard seemed like a good choice.
After doing much research on easy beginner lizards, we discovered that leopard geckos and crested geckos are great first lizards. They are easy to take care of, don't get very big, and are gentle and easy to handle.
We are now the proud owners of a cute little 2 year old female leopard gecko who we adopted from a family on Craigs List. Carson just about jumped out of his skin when we surprised him with it on his birthday. He was so excited!! He has named her Gina the Gecko. Welcome Gina!
