Yes... I am overwhelmed right now with the amount of packing, gifts and last minute things that need to get done between now and Friday morning.
But....
For the first time I am at peace.
I have a due date.
That sounds like such a strange thing, but for 18 months, the hardest part of our wait was not knowing how long that wait would be. When asked how long parts would be, it could be days, or weeks or even months. There was not one part of our journey where we knew for sure how long things would take. From homestudies being completed to fingerprinting to referrals and acceptance papers to waiting for legals and courtpapers to I600 approvals and travel calls... for the first time, I have a DUE DATE! I know exactly the date and time I will be in Korea. I know exactly when our plane will land and when we will meet our little girl for the first time. I will never ever complain again that my boys were a few days overdue when I was pregnant. Having a due date was a luxury that adoptive parents don't have. But today... today I have a due date.
I am finally at peace.
Since Friday, I have not had to check and refresh my e-mails every hour. I have not had to call phone numbers requesting status of paperwork. I have not had to race to the mailbox. And I have not had my heart beating each time I played my answering machine messages.
I have a due date. And I LOVE IT!!!

Yes! Isn't that a lovely feeling? Can't wait to hear how your travels go and the story of Adelyn's journey home!
Ahh, I am so jealous! I can't wait to hear more details. I wish I could follow you around this week and ask you a million questions. Just one...which airline are you taking? Ok...two, when do you get to see Adelyn?
I completely understand your feeling! I was the exact same way. Everyone kept asking me how I was doing wondering if I was going crazy waiting but I was at complete peace because I finally knew when! SO happy for you! You will LOVE it here!!!
