(Sorry for posting these a little late... been celebrating her finalization!!)
The week before Christmas, we celebrated with a HUGE cousins party on Jeff's side of the family. We do this each year with his Dad's side of the family which include the families from ten brothers and sisters! As we keep growing each year, we are over 130+ people! It was a fun time of lots of YUMMY food and catching up with people. Everyone was very excited to meet Adelyn... so many family members have been following her blog daily. She was her normal charming self, although she has suddenly taken an aversion to men so no matter how hard we tried, we couldn't get her to go to any uncles, cousins or even grandpa... just Daddy.
After we were done eating, it is tradition for all of the kids to sit together and sing Christmas carols until Santa arrives. There is a lot of excitement when we all hear those sleighbells! He even has a sack of presents- one for every single kid (and sometimes even the grown up kids!). This year, Carson was lucky enough to be the first one called up on his lap. He was all smiles of course. But when it came to Adelyn's turn, I could literally feel her tighten up on my lap. She started screaming before we even got over to Santa! There was no sitting on that scary red-suited man's lap! So the best we could do for a picture was for me to stand somewhat near Santa for about two seconds!! She was fine the second we sat back down... a long ways away from Santa of course!
We had a great evening of fun! Even though Santa may not be her buddy quite yet, it was still so fun to experience her first Santa experience with her! Merry Christmas!
One Mommy. One Daddy. Two brothers. Four hearts who waited so long for our sister and daughter to come home. And now our wonderful family is finally complete!
