Hurry up and wait...

"The hurry up and wait is just the nature of the adoption process."

I saw this quote this week on the blog of an amazing family (Journey to Forever) waiting to bring their son home from Korea any day now.

How true.

For the last 18 months, it has been a rollercoaster ride of waiting. Not just waiting, but doing everything possible to get to the next step as quickly as possible. And when you're there? Well... you wait for the next step... and the next... and the next....

It truly is a hurry up and wait process.

Hurry up homestudy... to wait for referral...

Hurry up referral.... to wait for legals...

Hurry up legals... to wait for court approval...

Hurry up court approval... to wait for I600....

Hurry up I600... to wait for travel call...

I don't know if you can truly understand this unless you've experienced it. But let me tell you, its emotional, stressful, thrilling, exciting, nerve-wracking and I'd do it all again in a heartbeat. But we can't hurry up God... we just have to wait for his perfect timing.

What a great summary of the adoption process! And with the perfect ending!

I will be in your shoes soon enough! I can't imagine waiting, especially once you have a picture of your little girl...I don't know how I'll look at her little face and not just get on a plane right then and there!

So true! It will all be worth it and the agony of waiting simply disappears once you meet that little girl!
