Oh my gosh! Oh my gosh! OH MY GOSH!!
As I was checking my e-mail this morning, I saw an e-mail from our social worker. I assumed she was answering a few questions I had e-mailed her. When I clicked on it, all I read was...
"We have received your travel notice from SWS this morning."This was our TRAVEL CALL!!!!All I remember is screaming, jumping up and down and racing out of my room. Yesterday was our last day at school with students so today was a teacher-only day for us to work in our rooms and finish report cards. They use my room in the summer so there were a few girls in my room setting the room up and I think I scared them! They looked at me in surprise and I shouted "I'M GOING TO KOREA TO GET MY BABY!!!!" as I ran out of the room!
I ran around to the various classrooms with tears streaming down my face. I was shaking, crying, giggling, crying, and hugging everyone I saw. I just couldn't believe it. When I finally got Jeff on the phone I couldn't even talk straight!
ME (crying): "Oh my gosh! We got the call! I mean the e-mail. I mean, you know..."JEFF (confused): "What? What do you mean?"ME: "We got the call! We're going to Korea baby! We're going to get our little girl!!"I think we were both in shock! We both didn't know what to think or say, but I could tell in his voice he was so happy. When I hung up, I went back to crying and shaking and trying to call people.
This was CRAZY! I mean... I knew our travel call would be coming soon, but we had been told a few weeks after being NVC Out. I was praying it would come next week, but I had NO idea it would be only TWO DAYS after being NVC out! God is so good! He gave us the perfect timing!
What a whirlwind of a day! I raced home from school and Jeff and I immediately got on the phone and called the airlines and booked our flights. Since SWS wants us to be there from a Friday to Friday, our social worker said that the earliest we could leave was next week Friday. So of course, we are leaving next week Friday morning!!! I still can't believe it! This is so surreal!
We also filled out our reservation sheet to try to stay at the SWS Guesthouses. These are apartment style guesthouses built right at SWS for adoptive families to stay at. They have kitchens, living room areas, bathrooms and bedrooms. It will be so perfect if we can get in. We will know on Monday if there is any availability. Please pray there is- these are so much more affordable than other hotels.
So now our flights are booked and here we sit. As a dear friend said... we are wound up and exhausted at the same time! I'm emotionally drained, yet can't sleep because I'm so excited. The day we have been waiting for for 18 months is finally here! In 6 days I will be on an airplane on my way to Korea! AHHHHHH!!!!
